Beautiful Machine

I have enjoyed my La Pavoni Professional Chrome espresso machine for about 2 months now. It takes some time to get dialed in to it, which I love. That is part of the fun with going with a lever machine. I can also make cappuccinos that are with the right type and amount of foam. It is a beautiful machine that you can keep on your countertop or store when it is not in use. Easy to move around when it is not hot. Careful when it is on, easy to burn a finger or three.

The quintessential experience of espresso

The La Pavoni is an absolute legend.
Yes, it takes practice and a methodical ritual to use but, if you're a coffee snob... It is worth every second of effort you put into it.

My only complaint is the steam wand has a three hole tip which is not very fun to use but there are many single hole replacements out there.

New Pavoni user

Beautiful machine that makes exceptional espresso. Still trying to dial in my shots to produce more crema but overall it has been a fun and challenging new hobby. Thomas offers wonderful customer service and I will definitely purchase from Brew Origins in the future.

Beautiful and makes great espresso

This machine is very well constructed, very beautiful, and has the ability to produce consistently excellent shots. It requires a little more learning on the part of the user because it is a lever machine. The advantage of the lever is that the amount of resistance you get when you pull the lever down gives you very tangible and immediate feedback on the quality of your grind, dose and tamp. This is the machine for the espresso perfectionist. Not the machine for someone who wants their coffee delivered to them in 30 seconds with no effort on their part. My only complaint about the machine is that the steam tip that comes with the machine has 3 holes, and it is very difficult to get good quality microfoam. I highly recommend replacing this with a one-hole steam tip.

Love this machine

This is a tool, not a machine. You need to know how to grind your beans, tamp with the correct pressure, get the correct water temp, draw water in, soak the coffee, then pull your shot. It's a fine skill that needs mastering but I know of no other machine that makes better espresso than the manual pull be it La Pavoni or Olympia. I've made 8+ shots per day for over 1 year with this machine and it's fantastic every time. You do need to adjust the grind when switching beans. Italian espresso beans tend to be harder (medium roast for longer) than American beans (hotter roast but shorter). I prefer the Italian beans. The espresso has much better crema and I've yet to experienced a burnt batch.

Good investment

Great machine. Looks brilliant and with a little practice and patience, produces great coffee.
Would buy again.

Beautiful Machine for Espresso Fans!

I love my La Pavoni Stradivari! I had some experience using my friend's lever machine, so thankfully I knew how to use one. If you're an absolute beginner, you'll need some practice. But I actually think they're really funny to use! Relatively light weight, doesn't take up too much counter space, and makes the BEST espresso. I highly recommend.

Great Buying Experience

My La Pavoni is a very fun machine to use.
Easier to use that I had anticipated. Great experience with the guy helping me order.
I can highly recommend.

Espresso Tastes as Good as the Machine Looks

Great machine with a classy, artistic look. It's also a perfect size for my medium-sized kitchen. Less than 15 lbs, so it's very portable and easy to move when cleaning my countertop. I couldn't be happier with my La Pavoni, and I'm extremely glad I went for this model with the stunning gold finish.

La Pavoni idealist

This is my third La Pavoni Professional In 34 years. 17 years per machine seems reasonable to me especially for this beautifully designed machine With which I have made countless, delicious coffees for decades. While contemplating buying my third, I briefly considered another type of machine that I realized that I had no interest in a pushbutton, I like the process of pulling shots of espresso. I also appreciate that this machine has a fairly small footprint so it doesn’t take up too much room on my counter. And it has been a part of my family for so long. It is just the way we make coffee. I figure I may have to get one more machine in my lifetime and at that point I am confident I will get my fifth La Pavoni Professional!

Beautiful!

After using a Breville Barista express for eight years I purchased this machine. The wood matches my Kitchen along with the wood grain of the grinder. The Wi-Fi setup works great to be able to program warm-up times in the morning and set temperatures on the boiler above the group head.Read more about review stating Beautiful! I would like to see a PID added to the steam boiler in the future as this is a GEN 1 machine.

The best of its price and size

I own the i-Mini (polished aluminium) which has flat burrs and we love it. Our son would not stop begging us to get one. Boy, are we glad we did! It is fast (8 second per cup) and we can grind it as we want. Furthermore, no messy cleaning to do. All it needs after using it, is to tilt a bit it so the extra grind coffee can be expelled from the spout.

Would I buy it again? Yes, with bells on. But I do not see that day soon as it is good for 600 kilos or pounds of coffee beans.

Great value

Love it. Total upgrade from my old machine. Love the almost unlimited adjustments. Tuned it and getting really nice tasty shots.

I love mornings...

This is my first high end espresso maker. I've had a Breville before and debated this purchase for quite a while. I wasn’t sure how much better this could be to justify the price + the cost of a dedicated grinder. Well after the first use it was obvious. Machine heats up quite fast about the time it takes to brush my teeth the head is warm.
The steam wand is very nice and produces steam quickly and I can steam the milk much faster than with my old machine. I am very impresed!

I bought the white machine and it's colour is fantastic! Makes it stand out from the sea of stainless in the kitchen.

amazing machine!

Gorgeous!

I purchased this machine (black version) as my entry into home espresso and honestly it was the aesthetics that won me over. I've paired this with a eureka mignon grinder and have been pulling some consistently good shots. The warm up time takes a little longer than the specs say if you want to make sure the grouphead is nice and heated. But overall the features are great and easy to play with. Temp, pre-infusion, shot timer are all great features and the dual thermoblock makes everything so so easy! Very pleased with this purchase and the customer service I received from brew origins.

Attractive price-performance ratio

This is my first espresso machine. It was a decision based on both form and function. Design wise the Dream is a work of art on the counter. For function, after a bit of trial and error I am now pulling great espresso every time. The only complaints I have is that the steaming wand is a bit constrictive and the purging time required is a bit longer than I’d like. These are nit-picks though as overall I’m extremely happy with this purchase.

So far so good, timing difficult

So far I really like the Ascaso Dream PID. The fit and finish is really nice. Its a compact machine with a lot of nice features. It's on the quieter side. Warmup time is fast. The switches and knobs are very robust. There is nothing visibly cheap about this machine. Nice rubber feet.

The only negatives for me are the small water tank. You can only fill it from the right side and must remove it first. The jumbo double spout portafilter makes it hard to pull a single shot into a small espresso cup. I might go for the bottomless portafilter to fill this purpose. Finally, the double shot non-pressurized basket is slightly too small for my 58mm tamper. It works fine on all the others which is weird.

Getting used to the multifunction switches also takes a minute. I can't see talking my wife through making a cup over the phone.

Amazing Espresso machine.

I'm so happy I got this (I have had it for maybe 2 weeks now but have used it heavily during that time). At first, I was worried that the price was not reflective of the quality but, now that I have it, I realize it provides all the things I wanted, as well as being in a really nice-looking shell. It feels sturdy and has all the bells and whistles. Nothing feels like it was added as an afterthought.

Would definitely buy this again.

Day and Night

I've been using an entry level ($300) espresso machine for years. This machine makes a far superior product. By controlling 3 of the variables for you, it really lets you dial in your shots. PID keeps the temperature perfect, the timer takes care of the pull length, and the pressure gauge tells you if you're getting a good extraction. The cappuccinos I'm serving while we work in the office are blowing people away. I've had better luck with the pressurized portafilter, but I'm upgrading my grinder to get the most out of this machine. Worth the investment on both fronts for the flavor we're getting.

It’s a beauty, makes great espresso, I’m happy with it.

In real life it’s beautiful and solid. Makes great espresso! It’s a bit complicated to program, but SCG customer service was there to assist.

Excellent machine

Very easy to use, produces excellent quality shots and steamed milk.
